If you missed my Permission to Play workshop in May, you’re in luck! I’m bringing it back on January 11 at 1pm ET.
It’s easy for adults to forget that it’s okay to play, and that lack of play can keep us stuck!
On my podcast, I start every interview by asking my guests if they were creative kids or if they discovered their creative side later on. It’s the rare guest who doesn't think they were a creative kid, though there have been a few. What you may not know is that that's kind of a trick question, because we were all creative kids. The question is whether we recognize it or not. A lot of people don't because they think that's just normal kid stuff, which it is, and therefore has little to no value for adults.
The thing is, play is just as valuable for adults as kids. When we stop playing, we stop growing. We stagnate. Our lives become dull and colorless.
It doesn't have to be that way! Play brings us back to life. It reminds us of the things we love to do, adds joy to our days, and reminds us what it was like when we were little kids and created without worrying about arbitrary rules or approval.
Join us and let yourself feel that freedom again.
I’ve set this session at two hours to give us a little more time to share on screen (not just in the chat), but we may run a bit over if we have a large group or are feeling especially chatty.
The only thing you need to bring—other than yourself—is pen and paper, but you're welcome to bring any other art supplies you usually work with as well.
Here's what previous Permission to Play participants have said:
“A delightfully lighthearted workshop where I found my inner child again in a wonderfully freeing way, so that I am now implementing ideas Nancy introduced in her workshop! Fabulous!”
—Amy Adams, photographer
“A lovely experience that reconnected me to the playfulness and creativity of my childhood. I thought I’d lost touch with this forever in my adulthood, so it was wonderful to be put in contact with this part of me again. Thanks so much, Nancy.”
—Maria Ireland
“It was such an exciting way to shift stuck energy around playing. Nancy creates such an easygoing space to really have fun. I mean, like, REAL wholehearted, pure unadulterated FUN! She's got the gift!”
—Angela R. Smith, Founder of Root Cause Breathwork, Certified Compassion Key Practitioner and Breathwork Practitioner
