Exactly! I think it's really important to give it a good solid think before going there, just to be sure you've done everything you can to prevent regret. I suspect a lot of what really kills it for people is having to deal with the business side, honestly--but if you're good at that and enjoy it, or are in a position where someone else who's better at that can help you out, then it may be ideal. You just need to be aware of the pitfalls before you jump in so you can plan for them.
