Love Barbara Ehrenreich! Thanks for the book recommendation. The last book of hers I read was "Natural Causes" and it was a very informative, funny, and compelling read. I have to watch "Matlock" too!
"Nickel and Dimed" is the only other Ehrenreich I've read, but both have been great, so clearly I should read more of her! I really owe her an apology for thinking she was just being overly curmudgeonly. (The first section of the book is all about how toxic positivity affects cancer patients, including her own experience, and it's just horrible.) I'll have to give "Natural Causes" a look.
I wondered if you'd seen Matlock as I wrote this--it's SO up your alley!
