Love all of this, Nancy! Very excited about your pitch, as you know. Also watching Slow Horses (Season 3) and All Creatures Great and Small over here. Last night, it finally hit me that Samuel West is in both shows! Took me a minute since he is sans facial hair in Slow Horses. About to wrap up the 30 Day Drawing Habit with Wendy Mac and it's brought me so much joy. I think I've even managed to slightly improve my stick figures. Lol. Apart from that, it's my birthday on Saturday and I'm headed to the Bay Area to visit some family members. I look forward to eating lots of cake.

As someone who just watched Samuel West punch someone else in the face in Slow Horses S1, I can promise that he has the beard as Peter Judd, too, at least so far! And what a different character! Siegfried may be a handful, but better him than Peter Judd! Have you watched the original All Creatures, too, or just the new one?

When you first told me about the 30-Day drawing thing, I thought, "Well, I can't draw, so that wouldn't be for me." But if you're drawing stick figures, maybe I'll have to consider it for next year! 😆

Happy birthday in advance!!

Near Portland, OR. "Nice weeather" is relative. It's in the 40's and 50's and not pouring rain. A couple weeks ago it was ice storms!

Got it--much like a "nice day" when I lived in Northern Ireland was a warmish grey day with no rain. :)

Enjoying doing some bike riding in this nice weather!

Oh, I'm jealous of the nice weather! It's just grey and cold here in NJ. Whereabouts are you?

Oh! My memory has failed me. Peter Judd has no beard in Season 3, but he’s still a complete asshole. 🤣 You definitely don’t have to be able to draw to be part of the drawing group. That’s what is so fun about it. I encourage you to join. I’ve watched all of All Creatures. I love it so much though I’m always very stressed out that an animal may die. Kill all the people you want just let the animals live!!

Isn't the 30 days almost up? Or is it ongoing?

When I ask about the original All Creatures, I mean the one from the 70s with Robert Hardy and Peter Davison. I'm not sure from your response if that was clear or not! :) I've only watched the first one from this year, and that little rejected lamb almost broke my heart!

OH! I didn't know there was a series in the 70s. I've only watched the current version, which I guess is now on Season 5? Ditto on the rejected lamb. Wait until you get to the episode with the elderly cow. GAH!

There's definitely a series from the 70s, and a bunch of it (if not all of it) is on YouTube, last I looked. It was the first thing I ever saw Robert Hardy in--my mom loved the books and also loved the show, so I watched it with her on PBS from time to time), which is why I was reluctant to watch the new one. I just couldn't imagine anyone else as Siegfried. I know that's an actor's nightmare, but literally every time I've seen him in anything for the rest of my life, my first thought has been, "Siegfried!"

I've seen and liked Samuel West in other things (and on Twitter, where he was, IIRC, reciting people's favorite poems during lockdown as the only thing he could think of to do to help), so I was curious, but just couldn't quite get myself there. A couple of my friends finally convinced me to give the new one a try, and damned if he doesn't somehow manage to channel Robert Hardy while also bringing something different to the role. I think I spent most of the first episode thinking, "Dammit, Samuel West, I wasn't supposed to like you so much in this!!" 🤣
